VALLEY VIEW — The Valley View Lady Eagles had a rough outing in District 10-2A play Monday afternoon, falling to Ponder by the score of 18-2 in four innings.
Ponder scored three runs in the first inning and took a 7-0 lead after two.
In the third inning, Ponder tacked on six runs to take a 13-0 lead and added five more in the top half of the fourth to stretch that lead to 18-0.
The Lady Eagles did not go down without a fight though, plating two runs in the bottom half of the fourth.
Ponder’s 16-run lead after four innings ended the game due to the mercy rule.
Aubrey Antle led the way for Ponder as she went 2 for 2 at the plate with two walks and four runs scored.
For Valley View, Jenna Snyder led the way with a 2 for 2 performance at the plate and an RBI.
Also contributing for the Lady Eagles was Stormy Sesse who went 1 for 2 with a run scored.
Valley View’s next opponent was at noon today against Krum.
