LINDSAY — The No. 1 ranked Lindsay Lady Knights improved to 10-0 in District 11-A play with an easy 25-11, 25-17, 25-2 win over the Gold-burg Lady Bears Tuesday in Lindsay.
Brenna Mlinar had 28 assists for Lindsay. Taylor Atkins added 11 aces, 5 kills and 4 digs; Allison Metzler had 10 kills; Katie Nortman had 8 aces; Jordan Fleitman had 7 kills, 2 blocks and 2 digs; Kaylee Murphree had 7 kills, 3 aces and 3 digs; and Jessica Thurman had 6 kills and 2 aces.
Lindsay is now 26-10 overall.
Lindsay’s varsity will travel to Forestburg Friday for a 4:30 p.m. match. The Lindsay freshmen will host Krum at 5 p.m., Friday, followed by the junior varsity hosting Wichita Falls Notre Dame at 6.
Whitesboro falls to Sanger
SANGER — The Whitesboro Lady Cats saw their playoff hopes take a hit as they were defeated by the Sanger Lady Indians 23-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-16 Tuesday night in Sanger.
Whitesboro is now 2-4 in District 9-3A play and is in fourth place, while Sanger stayed in third by improving to 4-2 in district. Only the top three make the playoffs in Class 3A.
For the Lady Cats, Kortney Beebe had 13 kills, 3 blocks and 2 digs; Courtney Davis had 10 kills, 3 blocks, 7 digs and an ace; Jill Schuessler had 5 kills and 10 digs; Taylor Ezzell had 33 assists, 5 digs and an ace; Krista Hitt had 9 digs; Jennifer Williams had 2 kills, 2 assists, 3 digs and a block; and Rachel Urban had 7 digs.
Whitesboro’s overall record is now 22-10, while Sanger improved to 22-14. The Lady Cats will host Argyle Friday in a must-win battle.
Callisburg loses at Pilot Point
PILOT POINT — The Callisburg Lady Cats dropped a four-set match at Pilot Point Tuesday, falling 14-25, 22-25, 30-28, 20-25 in a District 10-2A match.
For Callisburg, Tara Wescoat had 12 kills and 19 digs; Kallie Byrom had 13 assists and 8 digs; Cadie Daniels had 7 kills; Sara Richardson had 14 assists; Kenzie Rohrbough had 3 kills and 5 blocks; and Taylor Coleman had 21 digs.
Callisburg is now 17-15 overall and 2-3 in district. The Lady Cats will travel to S&S; Consolidated next Tuesday.
