MUENSTER — Taylor Klement hit a shot in the paint with two seconds remaining to lift the Muenster Lady Hornets to a 58-56 win over Class 4A Wichita Falls Rider Monday in Muenster.
Rider (0-1) had hit a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left to tie the game, but Muenster (1-0) was able to work the ball down court and feed Klement for the winning shot.
Muenster led 30-22 at halftime, but was outscored 23-3 in the third quarter. A 25-point fourth period helped the Lady Hornets rally from that 12-point deficit.
Demi Koelzer led Muenster with 14 points, Lia Heers and Lana Heers both added 11, Shaina Felderhoff had 9, Taylor Klement scored 8 and Jackie Klement had 5.
