Caddo Mills was 11-2 a year ago and reached the regional semifinals. Running back Nathan Jeffrey may be the most explosive player Callisburg will face this season. Jeffrey has scored 44 touchdowns, which is two off the all-time state record in any classification. He will play both running back and quarterback and will carry the ball most of the time. He has rushed for over 200 yards in both of the Foxes’ playoff games.

COACHSPEAK - “We didn’t play very well the first half of the game. We tried to guard against a letdown after playing so well the week before, but we weren’t very sharp. The second half we settled down. To make the last touchdown drive speaks volumes. Our kids kept their poise and Bobby Dorman completed some amazing passes.” -- Callisburg coach Jerry Bomar on his team’s winning touchdown drive in the last two minutes.

The Pirates have wins over Sacred Heart, Ponder, Wolfe City, Blue Ridge, Era, Quinlan Boles and DeLeon.

Their losses have been to Archer City, Munday, Albany and Hamlin. Munday and Albany are still alive in the playoffs. The Indians have big wins over Roscoe, Winters and Seymour. On offense, they run an I-option and they do it very well. They are extremely disciplined. On defense they run a 5-3 and fly to the football.

Their losses have been to Jim Ned and Petrolia. They have quality wins over Haskell, Olney, Seymour, Windthorst, Archer City and Bronte. They won the state championship in 2007, but missed the playoffs with a 5-5 record last year. They have speed on both sides of the ball. MUENSTER OUTLOOK - The Hornets defeated Perrin-Whitt 39-14 in the area round of the playoffs last week. Muenster had almost 300 yards of total offense in the win and led 33-0 before Perrin-Whitt was able to score in the fourth quarter. The big lead allowed Muenster coaches to pull quarterback Levi Trubenbach before halftime. Trubenbach injured his knee the week before, but still started the game and passed for 109 yards and two touchdowns before being pulled for precautionary reasons. Tyler Anderle took his place at quarterback and threw a touchdown pass in the third quarter. The big lead also allowed every Hornet player to get into the game. Muenster coach Allen Cross said it was good for his younger players to get the playoff feel and experience.
ALBANY OUTLOOK - The Lions defeated Petrolia 33-6 last week in the playoffs. Albany is the top ranked Class A team in the state by some polls. They have quality wins over Petrolia, Roscoe, Bronte and Eastland. The Lions went 14-1 and reached the state semifinals last year and return six starters on each side of the ball. Eligah Hudson had 1,262 yards rushing and 168 tackles last year.
