The Texas Blast 12-U girls recently won the Sherman Fall Softball League by finishing 8-1-1, earning the number one seed for the league’s tournament.
The Blast had a first round bye in the tournament and opened the second round with a 10-2 win over the Texas Force.
The Blast hit a bump in the road with a 6-5 loss to the Texas Altitude, but bounced back to defeat the Bryan County Ballers 8-2 to win the losers bracket.
By winning the losers bracket, the Blast then needed to beat the Altitude twice to win the league tournament and did so by defeating them 8-7 in extra innings in the first game than 7-2 in the final game.
The Blast program started just three years ago and consists of girls from Gainesville, Muenster, Callisburg and Sanger.
