NOCONA — The Gainesville Leopards continue their winning ways after routing Nocona Tuesday 60-23.
Harold Wills led the Leopards with 18 points and 8 rebounds while Kielyn Lewis added 15 points and 11 boards.
Gainesville (4-3) did not allow Nocona to score double digit points in any quarter and held a 30-10 lead at halftime.
Kenyon Morgan finished with 10 points, Dakota Nichols added 6 points and D.J. Harris finished with 4.
The Gainesville Leopards JV improved to 3-2 on the season after a 53-35 win over the Nocona Indians Tuesday.
Justin Dudenhoeffer led the team with 16 points while Bryant Allred and Keenan Blacklock each added 8.
Gainesville led 12-3 after the first quarter and 29-14 at halftime. The Leopards outscored Nocona 24-19 in the second half.
Also scoring for Gainesville were Conner Markel with 7 points, Brandon Hunt with 6 and Colin Nissen with 4 points.
Sacred Heart routs Hornets
ERA — Led by Kevin Kulle’s 19 points, the Sacred Heart Tigers handed the Era Hornets a 66-43 loss Tuesday night.
Also scoring for Sacred Heart (4-0) were John Krawietz scored 13 points and 6 steals while Jae Kook Im with 10 points while hauling in 8 rebounds.
Patrick Mojica scored 6 points while adding 10 assists. Kyle Knabe finished with 5 points and Greyson Evans and Garrett Berend each added 2 points.
The Sacred Heart JV also defeated Era 49-38 Tuesday night.
Ryan Felderhoff led with 16 points while Matt Hesse scored 12 and John Paul Hesse added 10. Austin Springer finished with 6 points, Austin Aldredge and Omar Colmenero each added 2 and A.J. Miller finished with 1.
Stats for Era were not made available by press time.
Hornets fend off Celina for win
CELINA — The Muenster Hornets improved to 5-0 after defeating Class 3A Celina 39-28 Tuesday night.
Eric Hellman led Muenster’s scoring with 10 points while Shane Presnall, Scott Porter and Garrett Walterscheid each added 7 points.
The Hornets led 14-7 after the first quarter and 17-14 at the half. Muenster then outscored the Bobcats 22-14 in the second half for the win.
Also scoring were Jason Luke and Josiah Flaming with 4 points apiece.
The Muenster JV Red team lost to Celina 52-25 Tuesday. Trevor Hess led the team with 9 points and Colton Lang added 7 for Muenster. Also scoring were Blayne Styles with 5 points and Alenn Fette and Corey Richey each finished with 2.
Also playing Celina Tuesday was the Muenster JV White team, who defeated the Bobcats 35-27.
Blake Grewing led the team with 10 points while Landon Presnall and Hunter Klement each added 7 points. Andy Flusche finished with 5 points, Austin Hennigan added 4 and Luke Kaufman scored 2.
Wildcats take down Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT — Ben Fisk and Alex Averill each scored 17 points to power Callisburg to a 66-59 win over Class 3A Bridgeport Tuesday.
Logan Eddelman added 10 points while Taylor Dishman and Matt Adams each chipped in 7.
Also scoring the Wildcats were Oscar Gutierrez and Brandon Lile who each finished with 4 points.
