DECATUR — After dropping its first two games of the Decatur Tournament Thursday and Friday, the Gainesville Leopards responded with a 71-59 win over Carter Riverside Saturday in the consolation bracket.

Harold Wills powered the Leopards notching a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds. He also finished with 3 assists. Kielyn Lewis scored 17 points and Kenyon Morgan added 15 in the win.

Patrick Westbrook scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals for the Leopards.

Gainesville (5-5) took a big lead after the first quarter at 18-7 then led 36-27 at halftime. the Leopards outscored Riverside 35-32 in second half for the win.

The Leopards next action will be tonight against Richardson Pearce. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.



Tigers take title over Frisco Legacy

MUENSTER — The Sacred Heart Tigers won the 18th Annual Knights of Columbus Red River Shoot-Out after a 58-54 win over Frisco Legacy Christian Saturday.

John Krawietz and Kevin Kulle each posted 22 points in the win. Kulle also hauled in 15 rebounds.

Sacred Heart (7-0) led 14-9 after the first quarter and 28-23 at halftime. Frisco cut the Tigers led to 40-38 after the third quarter, but Sacred Heart outscored its opponent 18-16 in the final quarter to hang on for the win.

For the Tigers, Patrick Mojica scored 5 points with 6 assists, Ian Barnhill also added 5 points while Jae Kook Im and Kyle Knabe each had 2 points.

Kulle was named Red River Shoot-Out Most Valuable Player while Mojica and Krawietz were each tabbed as all-tournament selections.
