PROSPER — The Gainesville Leopards improved to 9-8 on the season after taking a 57-48 win over Krum in the final day of the Prosper Tournament Wednesday.

Harold Wills was the leading scorer for the Leopards with 13 points while David Moore chipped in 12.

Gainesville trailed 15-10 after the first quarter and 24-23 at the half, but rallied in the second half with 34 points, including a 23-point fourth quarter that sealed the win.

Also scoring for Gainesville were Kielyn Lewis with 11 points, Kenyon Morgan with 9 and Denzel Johnson added 4.

The Gainesville Leopards dropped the third game at the Prosper Tournament Tuesday after falling to Lucas Lovejoy by the score of 42-22.

Gainesville did not score double-digit points in any quarter and had just 9 points in the first half.

Lovejoy led 16-9 at halftime and outscored the Leopards 26-13 in the second half.

Scoring for the Leopards were Wills and Lewis who each had 7 points and Johnson added 3.

Next action for the Leopards will be at home 3:30 p.m. Saturday against Wichita Falls Hirschi.



Muenster cruises past Quanah

JACKSBORO — Muenster took game two Tuesday in the Jacksboro Round Robin Tournament by defeating Quanah, 62-38.

Muenster (10-3) led 17-8 after the first quarter and 35-15 at halftime.

The Hornets coasted in the second half, outscoring the Indians 28-23.

Eric Hellman and Scott Porter each scored 14 points in the win while Garrett Walterscheid added 10. Josiah Flaming scored 8 points, Andy Flusche scored 7, Jason Luke finished with 5 and Shane Presnall and Tyler Anderle each added 2.

In Monday’s action, Hellman put up a monster game against Henrietta in the first round of the Jacksboro Tournament.

Hellman had 24 points to help pave the way for Muenster’s 51-37 win.

Muenster led 15-3 after the first quarter and 26-16 at halftime. The Hornets outscored Henrietta 25-22 in the second half.

Others scoring for Muenster were Luke with 8 points, Porter, Anderle and Flusche each had 4, Flaming had 3 and Walterscheid and Presnall each chipped in 2.
