LINDSAY — The Callisburg Wildcats lost both of their games Friday at the Lindsay round robin tournament, falling 9-5 to Valley View and 3-2 to Muenster.
Valley View took an early 6-2 lead after the first inning and added three more in the second. Callisburg trailed 9-2 through four innings before putting up three runs in the fifth, but it was all the Wildcats could muster against the Eagles.
Dustyn Whetzel went 1 for 2 with a double, two runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base for the Eagles.
For Callisburg, Mike Dutton was 2 for 2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored while Brandon Lile added a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Also helping out for the Wildcats were Lane Walter who was 1 for 3 with a run scored and a stolen base, and Colton Sparkman, who went 1 for 3 at the plate.
Against the Muenster Hornets, Muenster led 2-0 through four innings, before the Wildcats made an attempt at a comeback in the fifth with a run to cut the lead to 2-1.
However, the Hornets tacked on another run in the bottom half of the fifth to take a 3-1 lead.
Callisburg plated another in the top of the seventh, but could not do any further damage.
The Wildcats out hit Muenster six to four in the game.
Allen Eugster went 2 for 2 at the plate while Dutton finished with one hit, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base.
Dusty Taylor and Walter each had a hit and Sparkman finished with one hit and a run scored.
