Fog, wrong-way driver contribute to fatal crash

Cooke County — Foggy conditions and a wrong-way driver are believed to have contributed to a crash on US Highway 82 Thursday which took the lives of two Cooke County women.

Public Information Officer Mark Tackett of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred around 7:15 p.m.

Knola Dietz, 80, Myra, was eastbound on Highway 82 in the westbound lanes when she ran into Patrice Wynn, 61, of Saint Jo who was westbound. Both drivers were killed.

Lack of visibility due to fog is believed to have contributed to the women’s deaths.
