Police surveillance leads to multiple arrests

Collinsville —  Several arrests were made Friday morning in connection to a burglary of a habitation reported to the Gainesville Police Department (GPD).

GPD Public Information Officer Belva McClinton said the burglary occurred in the 4600 block of North Interstate 35.  Among the items taken were several checkbooks belonging to the victim.  On Friday around 11:40 a.m., she explained, officers responded to Prosperity Bank in reference to forged checks belonging to the victim of the burglary.

Teteryon Shalayne Trammell, a white 25-year-old female, was arrested for forgery and fraudulent use and possession of identifying information.

Subsequent investigation revealed two possible locations where additional stolen property from the burglary was being stored.  Gainesville police officers maintained surveillance of the two locations in anticipation of a search and seizure warrant as well as arrest warrants for several individuals involved with the burglary.

During this surveillance, McClinton explained, a vehicle was observed leaving one location in the 2600 block of East U.S. Highway 82 and was subsequently stopped.  The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was Bethany Jane Bryan, a white 28-year-old female. She was arrested for driving with an invalid license invalid and a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance.

A vehicle was seen leaving the second location of the 1900 block of East U.S. Highway 82, and it was stopped as well.

The driver of this vehicle, Dustin Allen Beck, a white 33-year-old male, and his passenger, Savanah Laurel Chadick, a white 25-year-old female, were both arrested on warrants for burglary of a habitation and for possession of controlled substance – Meth. Once the search warrants were signed, Gainesville police officers — assisted by officers in the Cooke County Sheriff’s Department — executed the search warrants recovering numerous items of stolen property, weapons and narcotics. In addition, Richard Dean Story, a white 41-year-old male, was arrested during this search for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

McClinton added that the case is still under investigation and arrest warrants have been issued for other suspects in connection with the burglary. Anyone with information concerning this incident should contact GPD Investigator Chad Mathes at (940) 668-7777. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call the Crime Tips Hotline at (940) 612-0000.
