Holiday Classic organizers announce All-Academic team

— A total of 26 student-athletes who participated in the Holiday Classic at NCTC were named to the All-Academic team. The awards, which were sponsored by the Cooke County Bar Association, were presented by Bar Association president Kyle Kemp, far left, and NCTC President Dr. Eddie Hadlock, far right. To be eligible, the athlete had to be a senior with a three-year average of 90 or above.

Domestic Violence

During Monday’s commissioners’ court meeting, officials signed a proclamation declaring June as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” throughout the county. Kim Cook (center right) of Gainesville’s Abigail’s Arms victim crisis center was present at the meeting and received the proclamation from County Judge John Roane.
