There was a standing-room-only crowd at Lions Fieldhouse on the North Central Texas College Gainesville campus Dec. 14 to honor and recognize the fall graduating class of 2012.
More than 380 students applied for graduation at NCTC this fall and 195 participated in the graduation ceremony.
Eight students graduated Summa Cum Laude with a cumulative grade point average of 4.00. They included Heather Dawn Baldi, Jessica Danielle Chambers, Kelsey Leigh Claney, Misty Ann Funk, Jenna Lynn Polasek, Ana Sanches, Brooke Danae Selman and Rachel Anne Wiedeke.
Five other students graduated Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.90-3.99.
They included Joan Evelyn Brockett, Jason Chance Earp, Darrell D. Hopkins, Scott Michael Leach and Gaizkane Loinaz-Ariceta.
Among the NCTC Honors Program graduates were HeatherDawn Baldi, Misty Ann Funk, Cheyenne Wesley Miller, Jayleane Mays Smith andDeLyndia Lee Vaighn.
NCTC Vice-President of Instruction Dr. Brent Wallacepresented the Class of 2012 and certifications of graduates, and NCTC President Dr. Eddie Hadlock conferred the degrees.
