Gainesville —
North Central Texas College Lifelong Learning Division and the Morton Museum of Cooke County will hold the next installment of a lecture series at 6 p.m., Tuesday March 26 in the Little Theater at North Central Texas College in Gainesville.
The series will celebrate a part of the city’s heritage with a lecture event on the Gainesville Community Circus.
Organizers call the series a “once in a lifetime program” that will feature the surviving members of the community circus.
The series will include a round table question and answer session to give guests a first hand account of the performers’ stories and memories of this exciting era in Gainesville’s history.
Costumes, photographs, memorabilia, and props will be showcased during the series.
The Gainesville Community Circus produced shows from 1930 to the early 1960’s.
The organization performed for more than 400,000 people and its Big Top held as many as 3,500 people.
The lecture series is $5 per person and seating is limited. For reservations call North Central Texas College Lifelong Learning Division. Call 668-4272 for ticket information or you may purchase your ticket at the door.
