Mountain Springs —
Quilters, crafters, musicians, and firefighters will all come together for the 21st annual Mountain Springs Arts, Crafts and Bluegrass Festival, set for Saturday, Sept. 29.
The festival will be held at the Mountain Springs Community Center and benefit two volunteer fire departments: Valley View and North Shore.
Arts and crafts booths will be set up under the oak trees to open at 8 a.m. There is no charge for booth registration; however, vendor donations for the fire departments are greatly appreciated. Proceeds from the arts and crafts sales go to the vendors.
The bluegrass music will begin at 1 p.m., with seven bands performing until 8 p.m. that evening; and sometimes, the strings keep going until way past dark. Admission fee for the bluegrass performances is $5 per person and there is no charge for children under age 12.
Lunch, dinner and beverages will be available for purchase and provided by the Valley View and North Shore Fire Departments. Dessert and a bake sale will be hosted by the Mountain Springs Quilting Club.
An expansive quilt show and sale will be displayed in the old church section of the community center. In addition, the quilting club will share their talent and generosity with a quilt raffle for the benefit. Raffle tickets at $1 each or six for $5.
For more information, call Colleen Clark Carri at (940) 665-9204 or (817) 999-9551.
