Cooke County —
An Abigail’s Arms supporter who participates in “Makeover Madness” this week could win $5,000 for the agency’s shelter or for a charity of their choice.
The event — set for today and Friday — is a fundraiser for the shelter project. The project will be Cooke County’s first shelter for domestic violence victims.
Participants receive makeovers courtesy of Mary Kay senior leadership coach and independent consultant Jan Cain. Profits from product sales with benefit Abigail’s Arms.
A before and after contest winner could win $5,000 for the shelter or for the charity of their choice.
A free compact will be given to each participant who brings a guest during Makeover Madness.
The design of the compact includes a ripple design.
“When you touch someone's life, you create a ripple effect that carries far beyond that one act,” Cain said. “ Beauty is a gift to be shared. That is the reason we are doing this for Abigail's arms. Ripples are never ending.”
Today’s sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Muenster State Bank at 1661 W. Highway 82 in Gainesville.
Friday’s makeover sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the First State Bank Conference Center on E. California St. in Gainesville.
