What interested you in running to be a hospital board member?
I served two two-year terms on the board until four years ago.  When I left the board our hospital was in extremely fine fiscal condition.  We need to regain that strong fiscal control and rebuild reserves so that our hospital can do their best work to serve our community.  There are lots of small things that help build trust and reserves and my job would be to try and be an instrumental in implementing the changes needed to obtain those objectives.
What ideas do you have for the district -- or what do you feel should be changed or implemented that you can affect?
The ideas I have for the district are to be the best we can be as a hospital.  We must have the best emergency room in a four-county area; we need to spruce up the waiting rooms, bring back into house some of the operating functions of the hospital that will help us operate more profitably and serve our customers with the absolute best service possible. There is no magic, just hard work, attention to detail and offering the best hospital experience in North Texas.  We have done it before, and we can do it again.
