The third in the Butterfield “Artists Showcase Series,” is set to present at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4.
This is the first show to be coordinated by Butterfield’s new Arthouse Productions.
The series, which boasts a theme of “Where art meets music,” will feature two local artists, one musical and one visual.
The musical guest for the evening will be a trio version of the local country group Dirt Road Gypsies, which has performed all around the Metroplex area, has several albums available for sale and will provide a Texas-style soundtrack to the evening’s activities.
The featured visual artist is L.G. Lemons of Nocona. His artwork is owned by enthusiasts from all over Texas and from as far away as North Carolina, Georgia, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Colorado, California, Washington, Indiana, Alabama and Washington D.C. Customers include President George W. Bush and senators Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn.
Lemons also exhibits and sells his work at a number of fine art shows and festivals around the state, such as the Garden Show in Wichita Falls, the Sherman Art Festival, Salado Art Fair in Mineral Wells, Texas Country Reporter Festival in Waxahachie, Art Splash in Graham, Art Affair on the Square in Wichita Falls, Art in the Heart of Breckenridge, Arts Alive Home and Crazy Water Festival, plus others. “Artist Showcase” events are free to the public and donations are accepted.
The evenings provide an opportunity for visitors to view great artwork, visit with the artists and enjoy local musicians in a very relaxed venue.
The event will include light refreshments and drinks and provides an enjoyable atmosphere for all who attend.
This event is sponsored by Dr. Richard Jolly and the North Texas Vision Center in cooperation with the Gainesville Daily Register.
