Expo to feature post-mastectomy fittings

Gainesville — Orange and black aren’t the only colors for fall. Each October, the color pink helps promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Approximately 240,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year in the U.S.

This year, Quality Inn in Gainesville and Healthline are teaming up to provide private bra and post-surgery camisole fittings by a certified post-mastectomy fitter for women who have experienced a mastectomy.

The private fittings will take place on Thursday as part of the second annual Healthy Happy & Whole Expo.

Medicare and most insurance companies will cover the cost of the lingerie. Medicare will cover three bras every three months, foam forms every six months and silicone forms every two years.

Drop by Healthine's booth at the expo for a visit or to schedule a private fitting. To secure a time for a private fitting in Gainesville on Oct 4, call Healthline at (903) 870-0701 or (800) 458-4540 and ask for Sandra.

“Healthy, Happy and Whole Expo” is set for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Gainesville Civic Center at 311 S. Weaver St. in Gainesville. The free event is open to the public and includes a free lunch courtesy of Select Energy Services.
