— Last Saturday's Frank Buck Zoological Society's Zoobilee fundraiser helped support projects and animal acquisitions for Gainesville's Frank Buck Zoo in Leonard Park. The annual event was called "Ballyhoo in the Zoo."

During Monday’s commissioners’ court meeting, officials signed a proclamation declaring June as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” throughout the county.
