Gainesville Police Deparment (GPD) officials reported that a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 35 led to the arrest of two men now in custody and charged with the first-degree felony offense of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
GPD Public Information Officer Belva McClinton reported that a GPD officer stopped the vehicle early Friday for a traffic violation — with a K-9 drug-detecting canine in tow. During the stop, the dog was deployed and alerted on the vehicle, indicating the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search revealed more than $23,000 dollars in cash and approximately 1.7 pounds of cocaine, which had an estimated street value of $78,500.
Christopher Rolfe, a 58-year-old black male and Carl Walker, a 53-year-old black male, both of Wichita, Kan., were arrested and taken to the Cooke County Sheriff’s Department.
