Former Gainesville ISD employee Kevin Beall (left) was presented a “Community Member Recognition” award during Monday’s regular Gainesville ISD Board of Directors meeting. Superintendent Jeff Brasher presented the award.

During Monday’s regular meeting, Gainesville Independent School
District directors approved the hiring of five employees incoming
during the 2012-13 academic year.
The list of hires included:
• John Fletcher, Gainesville Middle School health teacher and
assistant track coach. He is a graduate of the University of North
Texas and was previously employed with Irving ISD.
• Thomas Ray Jr., Gainesville High School history teacher and soccer
coach. He is a graduate of Dallas Christian College and was previously
employed with Irving ISD.
• Rachel Strait, Gainesville High School counselor. She is a graduate
of Texas Christian University and Southeastern Oklahoma State
University and was previously employed with Boyd ISD.
• Sahria Delgado, Thomas A. Edison Elementary School bilingual
kindergarten teacher. She is a graduate of the University of North
Texas.
• Mary Hutchison, Gainesville High School science teacher. She is a
graduate of the University of North Texas and was previously employed
with Lindsay ISD.
Monday’s meeting also included a “Community Member Recognition” award
for Kevin Beall, a former Gainesville ISD employee.
