A 40-year-old man from Southlake is in Cooke County Jail after he reportedly attempted to flee from law enforcement this morning, Friday, July 5.
Around 7:13 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers tried to stop Joshua Keith Hughes for speeding, according to Lt. Lonny Haschel, a DPS spokesman.
“He chose to evade them and drove his motorcycle around the area of southbound I-35 near the 485 mile marker,” Haschel said.
The pursuit lasted about two minutes and ended “very near” where it began, he said.
Additional information was not available.
Hughes faces charges of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 more than one gram less than four grams, driving while license invalid with previous convictions or suspensions and reckless driving, according to jail records.
His bonds total $104,500.
