Gainesville Independent School District board members recently recognized the students and teachers of the month for January.

The January Students of the Month received the Leopard Pride award at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The students were nominated by their teachers for their leadership, compassion for others, good choices and good example for their classmates. Students of the month, from left, were Steven Zamora Zapata (Gainesville Junior High), Noah Salazar (Lee), Deserae Pouncil (Gainesville High School), Yair Saucedo (Chalmers), Nicholas Henry (Lee), Colby Craun (GHS), Berklee Little (Edison), Tear Griffith (Chalmers), Allison Price (Edison) and Jayelynn Graham (GJH).
