Diabetes support group to meet

The local diabetes support group will meet 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, to learn how to lower the risks of foot complications related to diabetes.

Don R. Dolezalek Jr., a local podiatrist and wound specialist, will present at the support group, which meets in North Texas Medical Center classrooms. Anyone with diabetes or with a family member who has diabetes is invited to the free program.

Commissioners court to meet Monday

The Cooke County Commissioners Court will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11.

The agenda includes possible approval to change the zoning of a proposed subdivision off of Cheaney Road from agricultural to residential; approval of platting for several other subdivisions; and potentially changing the name of the Cooke County Environmental Health Office, among other items.

The court is slated to go into closed session to discuss matters related to attorney privilege.

Anyone wishing to address the commissioners about an agenda item should arrive at least half an hour early and sign in with the Cooke County Judge’s office. Public comment will be limited to no more than five minutes per person.
