Shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, customers of a major Internet service provider in Cooke County experienced some “downtime.”

According to a message from Muenster-based Nortex Communications, a fiber optic cable was inadvertantly cut, causing an outage of service.

“At approximately (10 a.m. Monday) morning we experienced an Internet outage due to a cut fiber. We are happy to report that as of 4 p.m. the Internet has been brought back on-line,” the message said. “Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and thank you for your patience.”
