A man from Monroe, Louisiana remained in custody at the Cooke County Jail on Tuesday, June 11, after he reportedly fired several rounds at a Gainesville apartment complex last week.
Adam Joseph Holloway, 30, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to jail records. His bonds total $115,000.
Around 8:47 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, officers with the Gainesville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the Woodglen Park Apartments, 2609 East U.S. 82, according to Gainesville police spokeswoman Belva McClinton.
When officers arrived, a 46-year-old Gainesville man told police he was standing on the balcony of his apartment when he saw two people confronting his neighbor about driving too fast in the parking lot.
McClinton said the resident saw one of the people, later identified as Holloway, pull out a handgun and fire several rounds.
There was a minor injury stemming from the reported altercation that did not require medical treatment, she said.
Police found Holloway in the 3300 block of East U.S. 82 where he was arrested on the aggravated assault charge.
McClinton said no other suspects are being sought. She did say, however, that Holloway has a felony conviction out of the state of Louisiana. The exact charge he was convicted of is not clear, she said.
