The first incident of shots fired happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of North Morris Street.

Police were called to a residence on North Morris Street where witnesses said they believe shots had been fired into and around the house.

Gainesville Police Chief Carl Dunlap said officers discovered a hole had been made at the house by some type of projectile object. Police did not recover any bullets or shell casings at that location.

The second incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 400 block of South Taylor Street.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired.

“Some witnesses were able to give a semi-description of the suspect’s car,” Dunlap said. “The car is possibly a tan, four-door small car with dark tinted windows,” Dunlap said.

Officers recovered five shell casings from the street outside the home. There is no evidence that anything was struck in the shooting.
