Editor's note: This is the next story in our Gainesville Pride business profile series.
For more than 20 years, Renaissance Care Center, located at 1400 Blackhills Drive in Gainesville, has been a skilled nursing facility that offers short and long term services and specializes in patient rehabilitation to return a patient to their home.
The facility is rated 5-stars for all operations by www.medicare.gov and has received a deficency-free survey for 2014 by state and federal regulations. Receiving a QRS of 94 means that Renaissance has more potential advantages than 99.75 percent of other nursing homes in Texas.
Renaissance Care Center takes all the benefits of traditional nursing homes and improves on them by crafting programs that care for the whole person physically, emotionally, and socially.
Located in a town deeply rooted in its historic past and yet still has the hometown feeling to help the next person without the blink of the eye, Renaissance Care Center is a 24-hour skilled nursing and rehabilitation center with a mission to provide excellent outcomes and value across the full spectrum of continuing care services.
Their goal is to prevent re-injury or relapse and reduce the chance of re-hospitalization. They take a proactive approach to rehabilitation, integrating advanced equipment with close, personalized care to return patients home. Their chronic care programs are designed to support patients requiring long-term clinical assistance allowing them to focus on their quality of life.
The facility began an extensive six-phase, $1.7 million renovation project scheduled to be completed in March. The footprint of the 91-bed facility will not change. The interior will undergo changes to include a new chapel, a state-of-the-art therapy gym that will be conveniently located at the front of the facility for ease of out-patient therapy.
The interior will consist of wall-to-wall carpeting, all new furnishings for the patient room and common areas, wall mounted flat screen televisions for each patient’s use, all new lighting, and a completely re-structured large multi-purpose room to include a coffee bistro area for the patients and visitors to enjoy. All will be decorated in an upscale theme particularly designed for this area.
A resort-style theme will be carried throughout the facility and outdoors to include re-surfaced parking area, black wrought iron fencing on the perimeter and a new look to the patio area for everyone’s enjoyment.
This extensive renovation is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2015 with a grand re-opening to be scheduled at that time.
Amenities include semi-private rooms, cable television service, activity programs with community outings, a complimentary beauty and barber salon, and housekeeping and laundry services.
Clinical services include around-the-clock skilled nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, nutritional services, including therapeutic diets and a selective menu.
