ARGYLE — Gainesville’s Lady Leopards played their best 8 minutes of basketball, of the year, Tuesday in Argyle’s Eagles gym.

However, the Lady Eagles, ranked 14th in the current Associated Press Class 3A basketball poll, took the game, 70-57.

Though the Lady Leopards are still “Oh-for” the District 8-3A season, they always play hard.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Lady Leopards trailed Argyle 37-25. But Gainesville was able to stay with the Lady Eagles in the third period and put up 18 points. The Lady Leopards actually sliced the double-digit lead to 9 points during that time.

Gainesville’s Laci Felderhoff connected on 3 treys while her sister Jaci Felderhoff hit one shot behind the 3-point arc during the third period.

Kaitlyn Culbertson (4 points) also helped the Lady Leopards cut the lead.

In the final period, Meredith Wooley scored 6 of her 8 points to help the Lady Eagles put the game away.

Molly Hennesy (4) and Brittany O’Brien (4) also contributed to the Lady Eagles’ victory.
