Tigerettes cruise to win
MUENSTER — The No. 8 Sacred Heart Tigerettes had no trouble Tuesday with Arlington Fellowship, defeating their opponent 68-29.
Sacred Heart took an early 22-4 lead in the first quarter and led 44-15 at halftime. In the second half, the Tigerettes outscored Arlington Fellowship 24-14.
Karli Anderle led the team with 19 points while Sydney Hoedebeck added 10.
Also for Sacred Heart (24-6, 4-1), Rebekah Hesse and Kelsey Reeves each scored 8 points, Karleigh Reeves added 7, Mikaela Bartush scored 6 points and led the team with 12 rebounds, Bailey Walterscheid scored 5 points, Kaitlin Hesse had 4 points and 4 steals and Devan Henry chipped in 1.
Lindsay remains in second place
LINDSAY — Needing to keep separation between Valley View and Era and keep pace with Muenster, the Lindsay Lady Knights picked up a big win Tuesday over Poolville, 56-43.
Lindsay led 14-9 after the first quarter and held a 28-17 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Lady Knights outscored the Lady Monarchs 28-26.
The win improves Lindsay’s district record to 8-2 for second in District 13-A Division I. The Lady Knights are two games back of undefeated Muenster and a game ahead of Era, which beat Valley View in overtime.
Megan Caillier led Lindsay with 17 points while Jessica Block finished with 10 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Katie Arendt scored 10 points and had 6 boards, Allison Metzler had 6 points and 6 rebounds, Jalyn Anderle scored 5 points and finsihed with 7 rebounds, Jordan Fleitman had 4 points and 8 boards and Katie Nortman chipped in with 2 points.
Lindsay takes on Era at home Friday night.
Muenster cruises to win
PERRIN — The No. 6 Muenster Lady Hornets used a 16-0 first quarter to defeat the Perrin-Whitt Lady Panthers Tuesday by the score of 53-20.
Muenster (23-5, 10-0) led 26-4 at halftime and outscored its opponent 27-16 in the second half to run its district winning streak to 30 games.
Taylor Klement led the Lady Hornets with 17 points while Lana Heers added 10. Allison Pagel and Michelle Sicking each chipped in with 7 points, Paige Hennigan and Demi Koelzer each finished with 4 and Kalyn Dangelmayr and Andi Felderhoff each scored 2.
Whitesboro edges Gainesville
WHITESBORO — Down 20-19 after the first three quarters, the Whitesboro Lady Cats outscored Gainesville 9-2 in the final period for a 28-22 win at home Tuesday.
Whitesboro (10-14) led 6-2 after the first and held a 14-9 lead at halftime.
But Gainesville rallied in the third period, outscoring the Lady Cats 11-5 for the lead heading into the final frame.
Leading scorers for Whitesboro were Kati Guthrie with 14 points, Ashley Kirby added 8 and Stefani Tucker scored 4.
For Gainesville, Ariannah Kemp led the team with 12 points.
Saint Jo blasts Forestburg
SAINT JO — The Saint Jo Lady Panthers defeated the Forestburg Lady Horns Tuesday 49-15.
Kyla Reeves had a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds while Ashley Dennis finished with 10 points and 8 boards to help lead Saint Jo.
Also scoring for the Lady Panthers were Brooklyn Lyons with 10 points and 6 steals, Theresa Barnett added 8 points, Claire Weger added 4, Macey Hall had 3 and Kate Weger finished with 2.
