PILOT POINT — The University Interscholastic League was not too kind to the Pilot Point Bearcats.

Though the biannual realignment moved the Bearcats, who were a 6-5 Division II bi-district finalist last season, out of Gainesville’s district, the UIL moved them into a district with Celina and Bonham.

The Bearcats return seven starters on offense and five on defense from last year’s playoff team.

All-district quarterback Arthur Buckingham (5-11, 170) and linebacker Michael Yarnell (5-8, 170) will lead their respective units.

Joining Buckingham on offense will be center Monty Chambers (5-9, 210) and wide receivers Adam McBride (5-6, 150) and Ethan Stuckey (5-10, 165).

Running back Cooper Guthrie and lineman Shawn Randall will also be keys to how the offense does.

Helping out in defense will be defensive tackle Joe Vine (5-8, 300), linebacker Ricky Loftis and defensive lineman Wes Southand.
