The Valley View Lady Eagles finished their regular season with a 61-30 win over Collinsville Tuesday in a District 15-A basketball game.

The Lady Eagles finish in third place in the final district standings and advance into the Class A playoffs.

The Lady Eagles will meet Trenton on Feb. 13. The game is scheduled to be played in Howe, at a time to be determined.

Depending if the Howe boys ability to make the playoffs, the Lady Eagles will be part of a doubleheader. The Howe Bulldogs will play a playoff game, as will the Lady Eagles.

If the Bulldogs don’t make the playoffs, the loser of the Lindsay-Muenster playoff game will be part of the doubleheader.

The Lady Eagles finished the season with an 8-18 mark, and were 3-5 in district play.

The Valley View boys will meet Trenton, also in Howe, on Feb. 21. The time for this game is also to be determined.

This is the first year that the University Interscholastic League allows the third-place team to advance into the Class A playoffs.

Lindsay and Muenster ended the regular season tied for first place with 7-1 district records. The two teams will decide the first and second place standings with a one-game playoff Friday in Whitesboro.

Against the Lady Pirates, the Lady Eagles broke open a close game by outscoring the Lady Pirates 18-3 in the third period.

Amelia Barthold paced the Lady Eagles in scoring with 15 points, while Abby Barthold added 14 and Courtney Pierce 13.

Katie Tatum added 8, while Natalie Zimmerer scored 6.

Hannah McKinney scored 10 points for the Lady Pirates, while Toni Shelton added 9.

Valley View 8th 45, Collinsville 21 —. The Valley View eighth grade Eagles took a victory over Collinsville recently. Mark Brown scored 14 points to lead Eagles. Scott Porter added 11 while Scott Willis and Dylan Pembroke scored 8 points each.
