The Gainesville Lady Leopards pounded out 14 hits in a 13-7 win over the Nocona Lady Indians Saturday afternoon at Lady Leopard Diamond.
Gainesville used a five-run third inning and a four-run sixth to put some distance between themselves and Nocona.

But the Lady Leopards answered right back in the bottom of the first. Hannah Gerken got things started with a one-out double. Brittany Royal followed with a single and Samantha Calhoun reached on an error. All three would score on wild pitches that allowed Gainesville to take a 3-2 lead.

Royal followed with an RBI single and Calhoun then hit a double off the top of the fence in left field that scored Royal. Sarah Gerken then had an RBI groundout. Later Ariannah Kemp singled and Karly Rhodes walked and both eventually scored.
Nocona got a couple of the runs back in the fourth on RBI hits by Cable and Makayla Sandovol to make it 8-4. Gainesville made it 9-4 in the fifth as Tiffany Griffith singled and later scored on a single by Royal.
The Lady Indians pushed three runs across the plate in the top of the sixth to make it 9-7. Two errors allowed two of the runs to score.
But Gainesville responded with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Haley Schumacher led off the inning with a single. Later, Rhodes and Kaitlynn Romans had back-to-back singles, the latter of which scored Schumacher. Griffith then reached on a fielder’s choice that scored pinch runner Keely Villa and Hannah Gerken followed with a single. After a walk to Royal, Calhoun had a 2-RBI single.
