Electric Red Drill Team fundraiser

The Electric Red Drill Team Backers has scheduled a fund-raising hamburger supper at the first Gainesville Leopards varsity football home game of theyear.

Hamburgers go on sale from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Leeper Stadium, according to Tammy Bullard, a member of the Electric Red Drill Team Backers, an organization of parents and community members who help the drill and dance team to pay for costumes, attend competitions, etc.

“We’re trying to get a lot of people out for this, as it’s our biggest fund-raiser of the year,” Bullard said.

She said tickets may be purchased ahead of time from any of the drill team’s 13 members. Proceeds go directly to the Electric Red Drill Team Backers.

Leopards games on KGAF

The Gainesville Leopards non-district football game against the Burkburnett Bulldogs will be broadcast on KGAF 1580 this week.

An area coaches show will start at 6 p.m. Friday, with the Coach Matt Young show scheduled for 7 p.m. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Gainesville Quarterback Club Meets

The Gainesville Quarterback Club meeting is a noon Thursdays in GNB Hospitality room.

Gainesville Athletic Booster Club Meets

The Gainesville High School Athletic Booster Club meeting is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 11 in the GHS Library.

Bowling Leagues Set

Sherman’s Lone Star Bowling Lanes is starting up it fall leagues. The leagues consist of groups from lone star seniors, ladies city, Tuesday night mixed and several others.

Sherman Kiwanis Bicycle Rally

The Sherman Kiwanis Club will sponsor the 2006 Red River Classic Bicycle Rally.

The rally will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 16.

There will be rallies of 60 miles, 40 miles, 25 miles and 10 miles.

Legion Bass Tournament

The Pilot Point American legion Ladies Auxiliary will host the fourth annual “Set the Hook” team bass tournament at 6 a.m. Sept. 9 on Lake Ray Roberts.

The tournament will run from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Weigh-in will close at 3 p.m. and will be held at Jordan Park.

Callisburg Football on KPFC

The Callisburg football games will be broadcast on KPFC 91.9 FM in Gainesville and FM 89.1 in Callisburg.

The games can also be found on the Internet at www.kpfc.org.

Pregame starts at 7:15 p.m. each Friday, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
