LINDSAY — The No. 1 ranked Lindsay Lady Knights volleyball team won their final tuneup before beginning district play by defeating the Bowie Lady Jackrabbits 25-14, 25-16, 10-25, 25-18 Tuesday.

Bowie is the No. 15 ranked team in Class 2A.

For Lindsay, Brenna Mlinar had 33 assists, 7 digs, 3 kills and 2 aces; Kaylee Murphree had 15 kills, 3 blocks and 8 digs; Allison Metzler had 4 kills and 2 digs; Kristin Martin had 2 kills, 4 blocks and 15 digs; Jordan Fleitman had 2 kills, 3 blocks and 3 digs; and Alyx Ethington had 4 digs.

Lindsay (16-10 overall) will open District 11-A play Friday at Collinsville. The varsity will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity and the freshmen.

Callisburg whips Whitewright

WHITEWRIGHT — The Callisburg Lady Cats went on the road Tuesday and defeated Whitewright 25-8, 25-9, 25-18 in non-district volleyball action.

For Callisburg, Sara Richardson had 14 assists, Tara Wescoat had 12 kills and 8 digs, and Kenzie Rohrbough had 7 kills and 4 blocks.

Callisburg (12-9 overall) will start play in the Buckle Up for Lane’s Sake Tournament Thursday in Nocona. The Lady Cats will face Paradise, Kennedale and Bryson.

In the junior varsity match Tuesday, the Lady Cats beat Whitewright 25-21, 25-15.

Gainesville falls at Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT — The Gainesville Lady Leopards fell in three games to Bridgeport Tuesday, losing 23-25, 18-25, 12-25.

No stats were made available.

The Lady Leopards are now 4-17 overall and will participate in the Buckle Up for Lane’s Sake Tournament in Nocona Thursday and Saturday.

Whitesboro beats Gunter again

GUNTER — The Whitesboro Lady Cats ran their winning streak to seven straight with an exciting 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 15-7 win over the Gunter Lady Tigers Tuesday.

It was the second time the Lady Cats had defeated Gunter in a span of four days.

For Whitesboro, Kortney Beebe had 18 kills, 4 aces, 2 digs and 2 blocks; Courtney Davis had 10 kills, 4 digs and 2 aces; Jill Schuessler had 9 kills and 31 digs; Becca Winter had 8 kills and 9 digs; Krista Hitt had 19 digs; Logan Tallent had 27 assists, 3 aces and 6 digs; Taylor Ezzell had 20 assists, 2 kills and 7 digs; and Jennifer Williams had 4 kills, 3 assists, 4 digs and 1 block.

Whitesboro (17-5 overall) will host Pottsboro Friday at 5 p.m.

Lady Pirates beat Anna

COLLINSVILLE — The Collinsville Lady Pirates defeated the Anna Lady Coyotes 25-15, 25-22, 25-21 Tuesday.

For Collinsville, Candace Marlin had 16 kills, 11 digs and 2 aces; Karli Koerner had 12 digs, 7 kills and 1 ace; Chelsea Petska had 13 digs, 6 kills and 3 blocks; and Brooke Swindle had 33 assists and 2 aces.

Collinsville will open district play at home Friday against No. 1 ranked Lindsay.
